Renee's Story:

While pregnant with my first child, my husband and I decided that a waterbirth was right for us.  As I learned more about the benefits of laboring and delivering in water, I couldn't imagine doing it any other way.  Although I wasn't sure if I would ultimately deliver my baby under the water, I was certain that it would be a great place to spend time in while in labor.

When I started to look for a tub to birth in, I found several options but none of them were exactly what I was looking for.  A standard childrens wading pool was always an inexpensive option, but I was looking for something with a bit more substance not to mention that managing the water temperature seemed to be a bit burdensome.  Of course, we all want to have as few burdens as possible when the time to deliver finally arrives.  There are several commercial tubs that are available for rent but they were very expensive and required the additional cost and burden of shipping it back and forth. Then,  I found the Deliverease tub rental option through
the recommendation of my midwife.

I was so thrilled to find the perfect tub!  The Deliverease tub was exactly what I was looking for and then some!  The size of the tub (6 foot in diameter) was perfect for my 6'2 and 300 lb. husband and I to both be comfortable in with room to spare.  The jets provided a soothing and relaxing massage as well as a calming white noise effect while I was in labor. The temperature control was the best convenience as I never had to boil a pot of water, always knew exactly what temperature the tub was at and could change it with just a touch of a button.  And to top it all off, the Chavez family provided delivery and set up and were there to answer all of our questions.

When the time finally arrived, I was  grateful to have the tub already set up and ready to go.  I spent the last few hours of labor in the tub relaxing in the heat of the water and using the jets to provide additional relief to my muscles and body.  With my husband by my side in the tub, we waited for the birth of our son in the relaxing and calming atmosphere of the water. We delivered a happy and healthy baby boy, Julian, in the tub and held him close to us in the warmth of the water as we welcomed him into the world.

The Deliverease tub played a big part in ensuring that I had the birthing experience I so hoped for.  I am very grateful that I found the tub and that it was a part of my son's beautiful birth.  I cannot imagine doing it any other way!  A special thank you to the Chavez family!

Early in my pregnancy, I expressed to my midwife that I was interested in renting a birth tub. Right away she recommended Baby Deliverease and I excitedly set up a rental date.

When the tub was delivered, the Chavez family set everything up and explained the different parts to me. They encouraged me to call if I had any problems or questions and it was reassuring to know that I could get in touch with them if I needed to!

The tub itself was wonderful – I found it most helpful for relieving my sore muscles during pregnancy. My sleep improved drastically after using the tub because I was finally able to lie down without tossing and turning due to an aching back! During labor, the hot water was helpful in lessening the pain from contractions, as well as slowing them down when I needed a break in early labor. It was so relaxing to use during labor that I was even able to fall asleep between contractions while in the water.

My experience with Baby Deliverease was wonderful and I now feel that a birth tub is an essential for any mom-to-be, whether it is used during pregnancy, labor or the birth itself! The Chavez family was easy to communicate with, very helpful, and they were patient & understanding when I went 11 days past my due date. Thanks so much Donna & family.

Baby Jantzen was born at 7:48 pm last night, He weighs 9lbs. 4oz.

Your tub worked wonders during the delivery. So much better than those flimsy AquaDoulas. Meghan was able to move about freely, and the rigid walls offered her the support she needed to get into different birthing positions.

Thank you so much for all of your help in making sure the tub worked for us, you all definitely went above and beyond.

M. Merino's Story:

When my husband and I decided to have a baby we knew right away that we didn't want to have a child in the hospital. I had many friends who had home births and all had these inspiring stories, I was a little scared but started doing some research and realized that I was drawn to the idea of a waterbirth. The tubs that I found in the area were all pretty much the same, no heat and no jets. I knew that I wanted to have as easy a labor as possible and didn't want my birthing team to have to be concerned with filling the tub with hot water all the time. My midwife gave me some options and Baby Deliverease was at the top of my list. It was a very reasonable price and it had both jets and could maintain heat!  I was in contact with Donna and she was great at communicating with me promptly and helpful with all my questions. The tub arrived just in time so I could test it out before my due date. It took literally minutes to set up and by the time my labor began (a week early) everything was already set up for me to just get in the water. The tub provided a great relief to not have to worry about holding up my own weight as I labored. I really believe that the tub helped make my delivery time bearable and not long at all. I had a little less than 7 hour labor with my first child and by the time it came to push-being in the water made it easier to bear down. I can't imagine having a child in any other way. Being able to catch my own son and see him in the water so peaceful made the whole thing worthwhile.  I'm so thankful that the Chavez family was so helpful and provided this option for me to have my birth exactly the way I wanted!
